On August 16, 1999, the following artists all arranged to meet at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City to see the wonderful exhibit of 40 years of surrealism. We all agreed to do individual projects based on the upcoming millennium using the same basic underlying theme. Before the end of the year, we hope to have all the artist's paintings posted on this site. You can see many of these artist's other works by clicking on the Visiting Artists section. By the end of the year, I will have set up a site for all who attended this momentous gathering. We needed to co-ordinate coming from all over to see this fine collection. We are confident that the exhibition will provide us with the necessary inspiration.
Michael Santini flew in with his wife, Roberta from Tucson, Arizona. Vladamir Tenieav of Moscow is currently working on projects in Philadelphia so he was available to join us.
Claudette Haba of Princeton, New Jersey was in attendance. Juliette Pelletier followed the circuitous route from Paris, to somewhere in Florida to Tucson and has now ended up in New York City. She was also with the group. ( On September 30, Juliette will join me at the opening of Pablo Carrington's show in New York City. Pablo is the son of surrealistic artist Leonora Carrington.)
Genevieve LaVo also attended. Genevieve is a junior at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and this young artist will also be featured in the Visiting Artists section by the end of the year. She is an honor student on an art scholarship at the college.
Finally, S.P.Xyxx was also there. I had seen the show a few weeks earlier with my son Schuyler (see Visiting Artists) and was so impressed that I managed to motivate all the above artists to attend on August 14, 1999.
